17 Jul A Breath of Fresh Air in Remembrance of Dot Reeder
Around lunchtime, you would often find Dot Reeder, Gillis Gilkerson’s former Accounts Payable Manager, heading out the door in search of some fresh air. In remembrance of Dot, who passed away last June, the Gillis Gilkerson team has followed her lead by taking weekly walks to reflect and share in good conversation with one another. The team fondly dubbed the outings, “Dot’s Dash” in her memory.
The Reeder family has deep roots planted within Gillis Gilkerson—Dot’s husband, Kevin (Senior Estimator), and daughter, Kelly Delano (Receptionist), often participate in the walks alongside her friends and colleagues. As a team, GGI is committed to honoring and remembering Dot— not simply as a member of the staff, but as a member of the company’s ‘family’.
“This is such a great way to honor my mom. She loved her walks and every bit of time that she got to spend with everyone at the office,” said Delano. “My dad and I both appreciate the support and look forward to the walks every week.”
