Mid-Sussex Dental Breaks Ground in Georgetown, DE

GEORGETOWN, DELAWARE – SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 –  Mid-Sussex Dental has begun construction on a new state-of-the art dental office in Georgetown, Delaware, conveniently located at 22305 Dupont Blvd along US Highway 113.  Dr. Eric Balliet and Dr. Julie Parker were recently joined by their construction consultant Alan Stephens to celebrate the milestone with a ceremonial groundbreaking, alongside their Gillis Gilkerson construction team made up of Project Executive, VP Matt Esham, Superintendent Brian Mason, and Project Manager David Erickson. 

Drs. Balliet and Parker currently operate the practice formerly known as Drs. Lord & Wheeler, P.A. on W. Market Street in Georgetown, Delaware. The family-oriented, patient-focused practice has been open for over 50 years and recognizes the need to expand their facility to meet the growing demand for compassionate dental care in the community.  Dr. Julie Parker is the daughter of Dr. John Wheeler, one of the original practice partners, and together with Dr. Eric Balliet, has committed to continue providing high-quality dental services with honesty, integrity and compassion.

“As the area continues to grow, and our practice expands, it became a necessity for Mid-Sussex Dental to invest in a larger space,” explains Dr. Parker.  “Our new office will allow us to accept new patients and provide comfortable and convenient care to our community for years to come.” 

Mid-Sussex Dental’s new practice location will feature twelve exam rooms, a large waiting and reception area, multiple check-out stations, and a design that maximizes flow and efficiency throughout the space.  Elevated interior finishes and exterior stack-stone veneer will give the space an attractive and high-quality aesthetic, mirroring the quality-of-care patients can expect within.
