25 Feb Staff Spotlight: Jared King
Project Manager Jared King is celebrating two years as a member of the Gillis Gilkerson team. After a recent promotion, he says he finds his job most rewarding and enjoyable because of the people he is surrounded by.
“My team is great. I enjoy meeting new people and collaborating with our clients,” said King. “It is pretty amazing to make others’ dreams and visions into a reality.”
Jared’s attention to detail, enthusiasm, and commitment ensures that the projects he manages not only meet, but exceed quality, budget, and schedule demands. When paired with his impressive experience in the construction industry, his problem-solving skills prove to be a significant benefit to his clients, especially during trying times in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
From early childhood, Jared was exposed to hands-on building and all things construction by his father, a local construction professional. He quickly realized that gaining experience in the field is the best way to hone his craft and learn. With experience in underground utilities, site work, and renovations, Jared has a deep and thorough understanding of all jobsite components.
Jared is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. When not on a jobsite or in the office, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Samantha, and their Labrador Retriever, Natural Light, and Cane Corso, Miller Lite. Jared is also the proud owner of land in Bishopville where he plans to build his future home one day; in the meantime, he enjoys exploring the property on dirt bikes and tractors.
