Gillis Gilkerson Modernizes Somerset Animal Hospital in Princess Anne

President Tyler Barnes of Gillis Gilkerson (GGI) is pleased to announce the firm’s completion of a large-scale renovation and addition project for Somerset Animal Hospital, am established veterinary clinic actively serving the Somerset County region. Upon recent completion, Gillis Gilkerson’s diligence resulted in the creation of a state-of-the-art clinic designed to provide exceptional care for animals throughout its community.

In early 2022, Somerset Animal Hospital enlisted the expertise of GGI to undertake a comprehensive renovation and expansion project at their location on 11279 Stewart Neck Road in Princess Anne, Maryland. The transformed facility now boasts a spacious waiting room, four private offices, an employee lounge, five exam rooms, a central treatment room, and advanced x-ray and operating rooms. The now +/- 5,000 square foot building is a testament to the vision and collaboration between the two organizations.

Tyler Barnes, President of Gillis Gilkerson, expressed his enthusiasm about the project: “We worked closely with Somerset Animal Hospital’s leadership team to create a well-thought-out space that enables them to provide the best possible care to their patients. Our construction team capitalized on the existing features of the building during the extensive renovation process. We effectively doubled the size of the old building and modernized the workspace. This new facility is truly top of the line. Ownership even prioritized employee comfort, incorporating designated lounges and ample space for continued growth.”

The exterior of the building features an attractive combination of vinyl siding and stonework, while ensuring the safety of all animals with a fully fenced yard area. Under the guidance of Project Manager Jared King and Superintendent Steve Eshleman, the original building was demolished, making way for the enhanced veterinary clinic that stands today. Somerset Animal Hospital is now well-positioned to serve the community for many years to come.

Co-owner Al Rayne expressed his excitement about the newly transformed facility, stating, “We are ecstatic over our new facility. The updated interior features and overall expansion ensure that we have plenty of room for our team to grow.”
