Matt Esham Named Vice President of Operations

SALISBURY, MARYLAND – Jan 22, 2025 – Gillis Gilkerson is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Esham to Vice President of Operations. Matt has been a Project Manager with Gillis Gilkerson for twelve years and has proven his ability to successfully deliver major projects on time and within budget. With thirty years of experience in the commercial construction industry, Matt offers a deep understanding of all commercial asset types including large scale industrial and institutional complexes. With an eye for detail and a vast knowledge of materials, estimating, design and scheduling, Matt has become an invaluable asset to the Gillis Gilkerson team. 

Matt is a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a degree in construction management, and a minor in engineering technology.  Matt additionally obtained an associate degree in computer aided drafting and design in architecture and engineering from Catonsville Community College. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects, and an IBC/ BOCA Certified Building Inspector and Plans Reviewer. 

As Vice President of Operations, Matt will now assist Gillis Gilkerson President Tyler Barnes with the oversight of all construction operations from early conceptual planning through to owner occupancy. His skills in managing field construction, experience with construction techniques and materials, and expertise in scheduling and the management of resources will make him an invaluable asset for our team members.
