Staff Spotlight: Greg Ennis

With a handful of large, high-profile projects underway, Project Manager Greg Ennis is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of the construction industry. Earlier this summer, Ennis and his field teams broke ground on two notable builds, the Cambria Hotel in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and the Perdue-Henson Junior Achievement Learning Center in Salisbury, Maryland. With both projects on track for completion in 2023, Ennis will enter his fourth year with Gillis Gilkerson and his sixteenth year in construction on a high note.

“It’s a great feeling to work on projects, watching them progress until completion, and then later ride by them knowing you were involved in the construction,” said Ennis. “There is satisfaction in taking an empty site or an old building and creating something new with it.”

As a devoted member of our team, Ennis is known for his consistent drive to exceed expectations. Whether he is processing paperwork or meeting onsite with clients and subcontractors, his attention to detail is unparalleled – he aims to leave everything that he touches better than it was found, a quality felt by all who work alongside him.

Ennis is a graduate of University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he studied Construction Management Technology. Additionally, he partook in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s 30-hour training course, is AED/CPR and Medic First Aid certified, and is a Certified Flagger per the America Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).

Over the course of his time with Gillis Gilkerson, Ennis has led a number of impressive builds, including the HiltonTru Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland and TidalHealth’s Behavioral Health Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Fun Fact: When Greg isn’t wearing his hard hat, he can usually be found on the baseball field as an umpire or camping with family and friends. He takes great pride in his role as President of the Delmarva Pony League, a youth baseball organization for children between the ages of 12 and 16.
