‘Wine’ing Butcher’ Celebrates Grand Opening in West Ocean City

SALISBURY, MARYLAND –November 9, 2021 – President Dwight Miller of Gillis Gilkerson is pleased to announce the construction and development firm’s completion of West Ocean City’s ‘Wine’ing Butcher’, a brand new gourmet market located at 12911 Ocean Gateway in Ocean City, Maryland. Featuring a full-service meat market, fresh produce, a deli offering Boar’s Head products, and a sophisticated selection of wine and artisan cheeses, the Wine’ing Butcher has introduced a new dining and retail concept to the Worcester County community.

“The Gillis Gilkerson team was awesome to work with,” said Dion Ho, Wine’ing Butcher partner. “Usability is important when it comes to the flow of daily operations. We ended up making some changes along the way and Gillis Gilkerson and all their subcontractors were fluid, quick and responsive throughout the whole process. They got us to the finish line.”

Gillis Gilkerson’s scope of work included the complete interior build out of +/- 2,894 square feet. The space now features a commercial kitchen with walk-in coolers and freezers, a cold processing room, food preparation area, retail space, and a deli and bakery. Led by Project Manager Matt Esham with onsite support provided by Superintendent Chris Deinlein, the firm completed the build in time for the peak of Ocean City’s tourist season.

“Gillis Gilkerson jumped in with their feet on fire and held to the original timeline,” said Andrew Arguin, Wine’ing Butcher owner. “We are excited to be open for business and anticipate a successful summer season. The world is opening back up and people are ready to hit the beach, throw backyard barbeques, and have an appetite for some good food and fun.”
